What does ALX need to locate a bitcoin payment or cryptocurrency payment to an invoice?
ALX can confirm if a ALX invoice was paid successfully to the merchant’s ledger by monitoring the merchants receiving address for incoming transaction(s) in the specified amount(s).
To help locate your transaction, you can provide any of the following, and we will attempt to locate the payment in our system:
- Transaction information (Transaction ID or Transaction Hash): This is usually located in your wallet transaction history.
- For Bitcoin, it is a set of 64 hexadecimal characters (0-9 & a-f). For example: 9f94d278a92b10e9abac013ffaf327a852c803da63bd2b9240bf6440e8bc1428
- Merchant Order and Merchant Name
- Receiving Address
- Bitcoin, Dogecoin, or Digibyte Address: a set of around 34 mixed case (upper/lower) alphanumeric characters (0-9, a-z, A-Z) which starts with a 1 or a 3. For instance: 19hw6hdT1rv16kwN89kJB4q5m83usjJDdu
Why can't ALX help me with my crypto or card transactions?
People sometimes confuse ALX and the Bitcoin, Dogecoin, Digibyte, Ethereum, Paypal, Stripe or other networks themselves. That’s okay, but it’s important for all of our users to know what ALX can and can't do to help them with transactions.
What ALX CAN do:
- Look up Crypto transactions on the public Bitcoin, Dogecoin, or Digibyte blockchain(s) using publicly available explorers
- Find details on crypto or card transactions that were sent to us or our merchants.
What ALX can NOT do:
- Access your Crypto wallet(s) or Paypal & Stripe accounts, or control/change/view/reverse any transactions received to or sent from your wallet
- Refund any and all crypto transactions made on any crypto currency networks
- Refund fully-paid ALX invoices that have been credited to the merchant.
- Refund your bitcoin or other crypto or card transactions
- Make your bitcoin or other crypto currency transactions confirm faster or refund unconfirmed transactions.
Can I send money to Crypto Wallets not associated with ALX accounts?
Yes. If you know the wallet address that you wish to send funds to, you can make payments to it and ALX will record the transactions and monitor for confirmations for you.
How do bitcoin block confirmations work?
When you make a bitcoin transaction, it begins as an unconfirmed transaction until bitcoin miners place it into a block of transactions. The miner then solves a unique mathematical puzzle called a proof of work. Once this is completed, the Bitcoin Network confirms your block and adds it to the blockchain. This new block added to the blockchain is another confirmation for your transaction.
Your bitcoin transactions are considered as secure as possible after six confirmations.
Sometimes, bitcoin transactions will be unconfirmed for a long period of time.
Can I send money to Paypal accounts using ALX?
